Solenostemon 'Florida Sun Jade'
Labor Day. Six weeks ago. It's been six weeks since I last walked through my garden, camera in hand. A whirlwind of work, sports, scouts, vacation and a singular garden focus on the front-yard redesign certainly kept me occupied, but it's hard to believe a full six weeks has passed since I last raised my lens to reflect on the garden.

Tonight as clouds gathered overhead, filtering the setting sun, I walked along the garden paths in search of portraits that would give me pause. There is very little lawn left, just transitions between and resting spots within the different garden rooms. Golden honeylocust leaves crunched slightly between blades of grass underfoot and hung from cobwebs in the corners as I made the counterclockwise loop around the house, capturing a snapshot of my mid-October garden.
