While in Chicago this past week for the
Independent Garden Center Show on Navy Pier, I had the pleasure of visiting
The Lurie Garden with Helen Yoest (of
Gardening with Confidence) and Bruce Bailey (of
Heavy Petal Nursery). It was both Helen and Bruce's first visit to The Lurie, a five-acre rooftop garden in the middle of downtown Chicago.
While I've visited The Lurie several times in the past, this was my first early morning visit. The garden glowed with crisp sunlight and all its colors popped against a clear blue sky. Walking around discovering the plants and design elements of the garden with Helen and Bruce was an incredible experience. It was truly an honor to see the garden anew through their expert and enthusiastic eyes.
Here are a few of the images I captured during our visit.
